January Newsletter 2012

I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday season and relaxing break. Thank you all for so many wonderful gifts! The teachers and I truly appreciate your thoughtfulness J I hope you liked your fancy keychain flashlight!

Costume Deposits due by January 20^th!  The fee is $40 per costume. The number of costumes is different per class - Check the bulletin board to be sure how many your dancer needs. If you are an EFT user I will be deducting your amount on the 20^th. If you pay by check, please note costume deposit in the memo. Thank you!

Dancers with Heart and Sole      Saturday, February 4th

·         Junior High School at 2:00pm

·         Dress rehearsal will be Friday, February 3rd from 5:00 to 7:30pm

·         All dancers are invited to be a part of the production. Backstage workers as well as help before and after the show are needed. Sign-up sheets are on the bulletin board. Already over 110 dancers are signed up! J

·         All dancers K & up are welcome to dance in the traditional finale “Look Through My Eyes”.

·         All proceeds will be donated to The Indiana Chapter of The Salvation Army

·         $20 donation per dancer – list your name and t-shirt size on the bulletin board

·         Monies due by the end of this month. EFT users will be deducted on Jan 30^th.

·          The following dances will be a part of the performance:

1.       Opening – “Give a little” High school dancers

2.       Seniors – “Look Away”

3.       Juniors – “Feedback”

4.       Thursday 8:30 Modern (8^th/9^th )  - “Be Be Your Love”

5.       Wednesday 8:30 Modern (7^th/8^th ) – “The Cave”

6.       Wednesday 6:45 Musical Theater (6^th/7^th) – “Bushel and a Peck”

7.       Sue’s Thursday 4:15  PK/K- “Mickey Motion”   

8.       Monday 5:45 Musical Theater (4^th/5^th grade) – “Oliver”

Please let Sue know if you are or are not able to be a part of this performance!

v Also included in this performance are the IHS Dance Team, singers from Jane Potter Baumer’s studio, Halle Angelo and Katie McKinney singing, Jenna Monteleone playing the harp, Sarah Cash playing the piano, a baton duet and small groups of dancers doing their own choreography!  

Dance Recital 2012    Saturday, June 2nd

The teachers are getting excited as they start working on recital numbers - Good attendance is vital!

If you know that your dancer is unable to participate in the recital this year, please let Sue and their teacher know ASAP.

Picture Weekend is scheduled for May 19, 20, & 21.  Photos will be taken by  Breymeier Photography again. (The original date of May 18 has been changed because of the Prom)

New adult classes forming!

1) Barre Intensity – intensive strength building exercises at the barre using weights, Pilates and dance. Wednesdays at 10:30am.  Contact Kelli Curtiss at curtisskelli@gmail.com
