In addition to the regular weekly schedule, SHDS brings in guest artists to work with the dancers such as: Renee Anderko from Fluidity Dance Company, Altoona PA ; Maria Caruso and Kelli Basil of Bodiography Contemporary Ballet Company (www.bodiographycbc.com), Pittsburgh, PA; Dr Cheryl Wilson, former  IUP Faculty and Jane Potter Baumer, private voice instructor.

SHDS dancers are also encouraged to attend dance conventions and workshops for a broader range of dance knowledge.  For the past two years several dancers experienced an excellent workshop at The Grier School in Tyrone, PA where many outstanding dance companies came to teach and perform. In addition, Heather, Sue and dancers attended the Urban Jamm  and Motion dance conventions. The dancers have traveled to Pittsburgh to experience the work of Nuvo, Jeff Shade and Dance Masters of PA. A few years ago  a group of dancers traveled to New York City to attend “The Rockette Experience” dance workshop as well as see “The Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the Rockettes.”  Sue feels it is very important to stay up-to-date on the latest trends in dance.
